ZONA ARQUEOLÓGICA LA FERRERIA
Site offering an opportunity to observe the remains of a pyramid, a ball game and two large rocks bearing engravings
According to archaeologist Charles Kelley, this site belongs to the Chalchihuites culture, which built and occupied it between 600 and 1300 AD, before the Tepehuan culture took over. The remains of a pyramid and a ball game can be seen there, as well as two large rocks with engravings. One of them, a representation of a hunter with a spear and surrounded by deer, lights up at the first rays of the sun during the autumn and spring equinoxes.
