Hill where the Museo de la Toma de Zacatecas, the Capilla de la Virgen del Patrocinio and the Mausoleo de los Hombres Ilustres are located
To the east of Zacatecas, on this hill that clearly dominates the city (from the top of its 2,610 meters) and from which the view is superb, is the Museo de la Toma de Zacatecas, which commemorates the battle of 1914 in which the troops of Pancho Villa triumphed. Next to it, the Capilla de la Virgen del Patrocinio is a popular place of pilgrimage for the miraculous cures attributed to the Virgin; finally, the Mausoleo de los Hombres Ilustres is the burial place of the most important figures in the history of Zacatecas.
