CONVENTO DE SAN FRANCISCO
Convent and landmark monument, marking the presence of the Franciscan order in Sombrerete, style corresponding to the canons of the Baroque.
Founded at the end of the 16th century, the convent of San Francisco is the symbol of the presence of the Franciscan order in the region. The original building is no longer standing, but it still dates from 1738. Its style corresponds to the canons of the baroque style, and makes it the flagship monument of the city. The convent has a large cloister of two levels and the church and the chapel adjacent to the monastery are also worth a visit. Not to be missed while wandering through the centre.
