CATEDRAL BASILICA DE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA ASUNCIÓN
Cathedral with two towers, one of the emblematic monuments of Aguascalientes, with paintings by José de Alcíbar and Manuel Cabrera
Built on the former site of the Parroquia de la Asunción (1575), this imposing ashlar building completed in 1738 has two towers, the second of which was added in the 19th century. Paintings by José de Alcíbar and Manuel Cabrera decorate the main walls, while a brand new organ by the Italian firm Ruffattti was installed in 2005. Not to be missed, it is one of the most emblematic monuments of the city, and its most important church.
