EL MUSEO REGIONAL POTOSINO
Museum with a collection of pre-Hispanic objects including a section dedicated to the Huastec culture and a monastic chapel
This museum is part of the old Franciscan convent built in 1586 and gathers a beautiful collection of pre-Hispanic objects, including a section dedicated to the Huastec culture. Upstairs is the extravagant Capilla de Aranzazú, a monastic chapel built in the mid-eighteenth century in a mixture of Churrigueresque and Baroque styles, with a beautiful yellow façade. Its stucco ornaments painted in turquoise and pink are surprising. Superb.
