PLAZA HIDALGO
Plaza Hidalgo with the statue of the leaders of the Mexican independence, Miguel Hidalgo, with some benches to rest
Plaza Hidalgo is located a few blocks from Macroplaza. The layout of the plaza dates back to the colonial era, when the city's Municipal Palace, now the Museo Metropolitano de Monterrey, was built there. Once known as the Plaza de la Carne, then Plaza del Mercado for the goods that were sold there, the Plaza Hidalgo is today a quiet square with trees. In the center is the statue of one of the leaders of the Mexican independence, Miguel Hidalgo. A few benches allow you to rest.
