Dominating the city, it was built by the Jesuits in 1880 on a eminence that would be an extinct volcano (Cerro Sombreretillo). This may be true, so the environment resembles a collapsed caldera. Tiny green spot in the middle of the desert expanse, its oasis situation is clear.
