L’OCÉANIUM / CENTRE DE PLONGÉE SOUS-MARINE
The peninsula of Cape Verde is becoming increasingly famous for divers. Here, no coral, but wide gorgonia, lots of fish, small and big, and some interesting shipwrecks. Haidar El-Ali, the size of the diving world and the Senegalese underwater video, offers you to discover the seabed of the smashed coast either by immersing yourself on an ad hoc basis or by following a course. From baptism to CMAS training through hunting, Océanium is another way to address Gorée or Madeleines, and a nice place where divers can also eat and be housed in large, comfortable rooms.
On the other hand, Océanium is a very active association in the protecion of the marine environment. Awareness campaigns, actions for the observance of reproductive periods, the fight against marine pollution, protection of endangered species, the eradication of poor fishing techniques, the creation of marine protected areas form part of the Association's actions. In addition, Océanium has embarked on reforestation programmes of mangrove forests to revive mangrove and fruit species in order to provide additional income to local populations.
