In the 1970s, the concept of integrated rural tourism emerged in Casamance. On the initiative of young people motivated to develop their villages, a number of camps were created, respecting traditional architecture and involving local people in management and leadership. Profits are then used to build village infrastructures such as maternity wards and schools. Contact the federation for a list of these camps.
