This camp, managed collectively by the villagers, is pleasant. We bask under the coconut trees on its fine sandy beach facing the river and enjoy the clean, ventilated or air-conditioned huts, with bathrooms, but some of them would deserve a little renovation. The restaurant is installed in a central hut where generous local dishes are served. Excursions and djembe evenings are also organized. Friendly and warm staff.

Nous avons choisi ce campement qui selon les photos trouvées sur le site internet était en bordure de l'eau avec de joli palmiers et de petites cases. Une fois arrivée là-bas, on se rend compte que la vue qui est prise une fois sur le bateau (les photos qu'on avait vues) est beaucoup plus flatteuse que ce que le campement est en réalité. La chambre est très très simple et propre, mais plutôt défraichie. La propreté de la petite plage ne donnait pas tellement envie de se baigner. L'entretien général du campement nécessiterait un peu plus de soins (revoir les allées pour marcher, les bancs et transats à réparer, etc). Il y a un excellent potentiel. Les gens qui travaillaient à l'accueil ont été très gentils et vraiment sympathiques. C'est aussi très près du port où l’on prend la pirogue pour se rendre sur les différentes iles comme Carabane. À noter: un bassin avec des crocodiles est situé sur le site du campement, pour ceux qui ont le coeur sensible, leur condition de vie n'ont pas l'air des meilleurs.

I too did not like the village Of Elinkine (I find salt), I expected better despite the reviews. On the other hand ideally located for excursions and Luc will give you a good pipes.
I made other camps cheaper and better in Casamance.

Since my three months voyege crossing Senegal and Gambia, I can assure you that it is this small hotel it is the best than I found. Here they knew how to manage a pretty hotel location exceptional, surrounded by nature, and at the same time in balance the village and the villagers. It is true Africa, and it respects and it protects it. I have a very good souvenir of my short stay in this hotel.

I spent a 5 days pleasant stay. The camp is simple, but clean and comfortable, welcoming team. The site is favourable to relaxation, the village and the river.
