No nonsense family run local hotel in the middle of the old part of town.
Staff are friendly and helpful

Breakfast is modest and fine
Laundry service possible, no bar or drinks are sold though

Rooms are spacious, a bit noisy due to the nearby mosque. Earplugs did the trick rhough

Excellent hôtel au coeur de St Louis

L'Etoile du Sud est idéalement situé sur la partie sud de l'ile de St Louis. Le responsable Diallo est fort aimable et cultivé. Je le recommande.

Superbe hôtel idéalement situé !!!
Les chambres sont toutes très très propres et spacieuses (nous en avons occupé 3), avec clim, frigo privatif, TV, moustiquaire.
Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié !
L’hôtel est plein de charme !
Un grand merci à son propriétaire (et ses fils) qui nous a reçu comme des rois !!!
On reviendra ;) !!

The rooms are exactly as you see in the pictures. They are comfortable, the sheets are clean and of good quality. The bathroom is large, not particularly special, but very functional and suitable. The staff is welcoming, and the continental breakfast is convenient. It is farther from the majority of restaurants which are in the north of the island, but it is an easy and safe 15 minute walk (even at night).

J’ai séjourné dans cet hôtel durant le festival de jazz. 1 nuit. Hôtel plein de Charme, allez y les yeux fermés. Les draps propres (par rapport à ceux que j’ai visité avant de trouver la perle rare.j’ai fait 3 avant de trouver le bon ) sécurisé et j’étais seule ???? le calme absolu. Loin de la tumulte, mais proche du pont Faidherbe à pied, la partie sud plus tranquille que le nord. Le personnel et la direction très courtois, à l’écoute de vos besoins. Le petit déjeuner continental au top ! Il ont encore des travaux à finir mais pas du tout dérangeant. ! En souhaitant qu’ils les finissent. S’il vous faut choisir de tte l’île je prendrais de nouveau ce charmante hôtel ! Bref Je recommande vivement cet hôtel. Et je réserverai pour l’an prochain ????????????
