FESTIVAL A SAHEL OUVERT
Involving the local population in its organization, this festival promises three lively days of concerts, debates and workshops.
Launched in 2010 by two public-interest associations, this festival was created to provide access to culture in this landlocked region of Senegal. In an approach that is unique in Africa, it emphasizes the involvement of the local population in the organization of this eagerly-awaited event. The program includes concerts, educational workshops, debates, traditional ceremonies, an open stage for young artists, etc. For the 6th edition in 2022, the festival welcomed some 70 local and international artists, as well as over 15,000 festival-goers.
