For any stay in Jerusalem, the Rav-Kav transport card is essential. Valid on buses, trains and streetcars, it replaces paper tickets - especially on buses and streetcars where there's no alternative way to pay for the ride. At the start of your trip, buy an anonymous Rav-Kav at the station or from a bus driver, and top it up as you go along (at stations, streetcar terminals, certain ATMs, kiosks, or online on the official Rav-Kav website). The balance is non-refundable.
