AÉROPORT BEN GOURION
By bus. This is the easiest and fastest way to reach Jerusalem since Afikim opened a direct line to and from the airport. Bus 485 is located on the 2nd floor, at the level of the departures, in front of gate 23. It operates 24 hours a day, 6 days a week (except from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening) and leaves every fixed hour. 16 NIS.
By train. Very practical. The airport has a station on level S (lowest). The trains are clean, comfortable and relatively unattended. Tickets are available at ATMs on the ground floor. It will cost you NIS 13.5. The train does not operate on Fridays and Saturdays.
The sherut (Nesher company). The sheruts, a kind of shared taxi, park near the airport lobby. Count 70 NIS per person to be paid directly to the driver, and about 50 minutes of travel to Jerusalem. Please note that sheruts can also pick you up at your hotel and drive you to the airport. This service is active 24 hours a day; Sabbath day, they will be the only ones to provide transport. Be careful, sheruts only leave the airport when they are full (10 seats), which can sometimes take a little time, and drop off each passenger in a random order. Do not favour if you are in a hurry.
By private taxi, count about 250 NIS to the city centre. However, beware of reelers; prefer the official taxi station, controlled by the authorities, which is located in Terminal 3, on the ground floor.
