Jerusalem's new Central Station opened in 2018. It currently offers direct connections to the airport (20 minutes) and Tel Aviv (45 minutes). You can reach other stations in the country by stopping off at Tel Aviv stations: for example, it takes 2.5 hours to reach Acre, on the north coast, from Jerusalem, with a stopover of around 20 minutes at Tel Aviv station. To access the trains, you'll have to descend 80 meters underground via several escalators. So arrive early!
