Ask the driver to turn on the meter (in Hebrew: "moneh") and be careful not to be "taken for a ride". Shared cabs, or sheruts , are only slightly more expensive than buses and much faster. There's a sherut station near the Central Bus Station (Tahana Merkazit) on Jaffa Road. To reach Tel Aviv, there's a shared cab rank at the corner of Ha-Nevi'im Street and Monbaz Street, on the southern edge of Mea Sherim (the rank moves a little further down the street on Shabbat days).
