NAHALAOT DISTRICT
At once popular, conservative and bohemian, this micro-neighborhood built in the early 20th century of Jerusalem stone is well worth a visit. It lies south of the Mahane Yehuda market and Agripas Street. Visitors come for its architecture, authentic atmosphere, cul-de-sacs, courtyards and patios, picturesque houses, flower-filled balconies and small, green public gardens. Its narrow cobbled streets hide numerous small synagogues and graffiti. The gentrifying neighborhood is also home to a number of pleasant cafés frequented by laymen.
