Ben Gurion International Airport, known to Israelis by its acronym "Natbag", is the former airport of Lod, as it is located close to that city (15 km). It is the largest airport in Israel and has the reputation of being one of the most secure airports in the world. Some 20 million passengers pass through its terminals every year.
