This cemetery is like the Père-Lachaise of Tel Aviv. Many historical personalities are buried here, such as the poets Haim Nahman Bialik and Shaul Chernichovsky, the first mayor of the city, Meir Dizengoff, and the essayist Ahad Haam. Early Zionist thinkers are there too: Max Simon Nordau, co-founder of the World Zionist Organization with Theodore Herzl, or Haïm Arlosorov. The cemetery was founded in 1902 and today it's a pleasant walk, quietly of course. Street Wise Hebrew Tours offers a guided tour.
