ERETZ ISRAEL MUSEUM
Founded in 1953 by Walter Moses, who left the city of Tel Aviv an impressive collection of pottery, glass vessels and ancient coins, the museum is located on the archaeological site of Tel Qasile, where twelve strata of civilization have been unearthed. It consists of an open-air space, around which are several thematic pavilions, a planetarium and a library. It presents the cultural heritage of the land (Eretz) of Israel from the earliest times to the present day. In the park there are archaeological objects and reconstructions (bread oven, wine press) as well as a botanical garden. You can then visit the thematic pavilions. The one devoted to ceramics presents funerary urns, richly decorated Cypriot and Greek vases, and many products from excavations in the country, to be compared with the contemporary ceramics exhibited in the courtyard. Similarly, the Egyptian and Phoenician works in the glass pavilion, which predate the discovery of the blown glass technique, can be compared with works by artists and the live work of a glassblower. Also worth seeing are the coin pavilion (from the 4th century BC), the metallurgy pavilion (the decoration at the entrance evokes a mine), reconstructions of weaving and ironwork workshops. "The Land of the Baron", is an exhibition dedicated to the Rothschild family and its work for the Jewish people and the land of Israel, with films, photos and documents.
