THE RUBIN MUSEUM
Reuven Rubin (1893-1974) is considered one of the most important Israeli painters of the first half of the 20th century. He was nicknamed "the Gauguin of Palestine", in reference to the naive character of his paintings. By visiting his house/workshop, one discovers the history of Israel and its cosntruction, through the landscapes of Safed and Jerusalem, but also Tel Aviv. The museum houses a selection of his works as well as photos and furniture that belonged to him. It also hosts temporary exhibitions of young Israeli artists.
