BEIT BIALIK
The house of the major Israeli poet is part of the complex of 4 magnificent buildings that surround the charming Bialik Square.
This is the former home of the poet Haïm Nachman Bialik, a national icon. He lived here with his wife for ten years from 1924. When the house reopens, you'll be able to see documents and personal effects of the artist, as well as works by Bialik's contemporaries: the poet supported and exhibited the artists of his time in his house, on the first floor, which was open to visitors. Indeed, Bialik wanted his house to resemble a synagogue, with a status that was half-public, half-private. The columns on the first floor depict the twelve tribes of Israel.
