RABIN PLACE
It's one of the biggest squares in Tel Aviv. Inaugurated in 1969, it is bordered to the north by the town hall - an imposing building. The square - originally named the Square of the Kings of Israel - was renamed in 1995 in homage to Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated outside the city hall in the same year. We'll see a memorial there, by the way. The Tel Avivians meet there on deckchairs to sunbathe. It is also one of the favourite gathering places for demonstrations and parades, as the esplanade is very large.
