TENGOFF SQUARE
This is the nerve center of Tel Aviv! From the fountain in the centre you can admire the remarkable Bauhaus buildings all around.
This emblematic Tel Aviv square was built in 1934 and named after the wife of Meïr Dizengoff (Tel Aviv's first mayor), Zina. At the time, it was already one of the city's most important squares, with heavy traffic. Lined with Bauhaus buildings (including the Cinema Hotel), it quickly became the symbol of the modern city. In recent years, the square has been completely renovated, and it's a delight to walk through it, admiring the magnificence of the surrounding buildings from the central fountain.
