This new visitors' center showcases the Israeli cosmetics brand Ahava, whose name means "Love" in Hebrew. To date, it is the only company in Israel able to extract and market natural resources from the Dead Sea. The factory has long been based on Kibbutz Mitzpe Shalem, a few kilometers north of Ein Gedi in Palestinian territory: as a result, it has been boycotted as illegal, and international organizations including the EU have announced that the "Made in Israel" label is invalid.
