MUSEUM OF MASSADA
This museum, opened in 2007, consists of nine rooms, where you can see the archaeological objects unearthed during the excavations of the site. The first room is dedicated to the writer Flavius Josephus, who recounted in detail the revolt of the Jews against the Romans and the drama of Masada; others to the emperor Herod and the Roman army; still others to the zealots. Among the exhibits: numerous objects from daily life, remains of parchment scrolls... or an extremely rare payment slip from a Roman soldier written on papyrus.
