MITZPE RAMON VISITOR CENTER
Inaugurated in 2013, the Mitzpe Ramon Visitor Center is located on the cliffs of the northern part of the Ramon crater. Admission is charged and allows access to two interactive exhibitions. The first is dedicated to Ilan Ramon, the first Israeli astronaut, who died in 2003, when the Columbia shuttle disintegrated as it entered the Earth's atmosphere. The second explains the natural processes that led to the creation of the crater and provides interesting information on plant and animal life in the region. The visit lasts about 1 hour.
