Located 25 km north of Eilat, the Timna Nature Park covers a splendid desert territory and is home to astonishing geological formations carved by erosion: a mushroom, a natural arch, monumental pillars some 50 m high, known as "Solomon's pillars", a sphinx... You'll also find the remains of the world's oldest copper mines, which were exploited by the Egyptians between the 14th and 12th centuries BC. An expert guide can be hired on site.
