Composed of four cars, six stations and one tunnel line 1 800 metres long, the Carmelit (which is actually a funicular) connects the two extreme stations in 8 minutes. It avoids the long ascent between the port and Mount Carmel district. The stations are, in order, Gan Ha'em (central Carmel); Bnei Zion (Bnei Tzion Hospital); Masada (Masada Street); Hanevi'im (Hanevi'im street, Art Museum, Science Museum, Haifa Museum); Solel Boneh (Hanevi'im tower); Kikar Pariz (in the lower town).
