MANÉ KATZ MUSEUM
Mané Katz was a Ukrainian-Jewish painter born in 1894 who worked in Paris with the Expressionists. He studied at the Beaux-Arts in Kiev, before moving to Paris in 1922. After 1948, he divided his time between Paris and Haifa, where he died in 1962. Along with Chagall, Mané-Katz was the only painter of his generation to remain committed to depicting the traditional Jewish world. He bequeathed his house and works to the city of Haifa. The museum displaying his work is currently closed in order to make the collections accessible to visitors with reduced mobility.
