Kibbutz Ein Carmel is about 4 km from Atlil. 30 years ago, sculptor Dagan Shkovsky launched what was to become a delightful sculpture garden. He had been working with basalt for a long time, and gradually populated the area with touching sculptures. Here, this particularly hard stone is all curves. Some pieces seem to emerge from the earth, like playful spirits from a sacred, forgotten world. The aim of this open-access garden is to make sculpture a living part of the city, so that it can be touched and experienced.
