The Atlit camp was used to disburse illegal immigrants between 1939 and 1948 during the British term of office in Palestine. The camp visit includes the screening of a short film and a guided tour of the barracks where the inmates lived. Among the many facts that took place here, on 10 October 1945, a Commando commando (Fighter special fighting Unit), led by Nahum Sarig and the young Yitzhak Rabin, launched an attack on the camp and released 200 prisoners.
