This cultural center has been open since 1996 and has been a Non-Governmental Organization since 1998. It works to promote art and culture in Palestinian society, and frequently organizes cultural events (exhibitions, readings, film screenings, children's activities, etc.). The center is housed in an Ottoman building dating from the early 20th century, which has been sympathetically renovated. The center is named after the Jerusalem scholar and poet Khalil Sakakini.
