This church is also called Mary's Well Church. For the Orthodox people, Mary would have received the Annunciation of the Angel Gabriel when she applied water to the well and not when she was at home. The church, built in the 10 th century on the site of previous churches, is a-minute walk to the northeast of the Basilica of the Annunciation. The beautiful crypt houses the source that feeds the well of Mary.
