BARUCH PADEH MEDICAL CENTER
The Baruch Padeh Medical Center, Poriya, is a general hospital located on the heights of Poria, near the town of Tiberias. Founded in 1955, it replaces the Schweitzer Hospital and also houses a maternity hospital belonging to the Scottish Church. The medical center serves the population of Tiberias, the Golan Heights, the Jordan Valley, the Lower Galilee and surrounding towns, villages, kibbutzim and moshavim. It is home to a diverse population, including Jews of different religious persuasions, Arabs, Muslims, Christians, Druze and Circassians. It provides high-quality medical services comparable to those of Israel's largest medical centers. The medical center has 318 inpatient beds, 12 outpatient beds, 9 dialysis stations and 31 cribs for newborns. It offers almost all medical services, with the exception of thoracic surgery and neurosurgery. The medical center is currently undergoing expansion, and plans to open a new emergency medicine department and renovate its maternity ward. It employs over 900 people, including doctors, ancillary and paramedical staff, as well as administrative and maintenance personnel. The medical center is affiliated with Bar Ilan University's Faculty of Medicine and the Galilee School of Medicine. It strives to offer quality health services to the population while maintaining an empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
