CHAPEL OF THE PRIMACY OF ST. PETER (CHURCH OF THE PRIMACY OF ST. PETER)
This grey stone chapel, also known as Mensa Domini Church, stands on the shore on the site where, according to the Christian tradition, Peter recognized Jesus three Days after his resurrection and that Christ entrusted him with his Church. The visible rock in the centre of the building is the table of Christ (mensa Christi) on which Jesus would have served a meal with his disciples. The building was rebuilt in 1933 on ancient ruins dated 1982 th century and restored in. It is under the responsibility of the Franciscans of the Custody of the Holy Land.
