IGLESIA Y CONVENTO DE LA COMPAÑÍA DE JESÚS

Built in 1741, this Jesuit temple was first used as a college and then as the seat of the first university of Panama until the expulsion of the Jesuits from Spanish lands in 1767. Abandoned after the fire of 1781, the convent also suffered an earthquake in 1882. Despite all these blows of fate, the ruins before you are relatively well preserved and bear witness to an era that contrasts with the renovation policy of Casco Viejo.
