The Anthropological Museum, named after the famous Panamanian anthropologist Reina Torres de Aráuz, has been closed for some twenty years, but is due to reopen its doors to the public in the first half of 2024. It is due to return to its original location on Plaza 5 de Mayo, in a building dating from 1912. Its 16,000 pieces of ceramics and silverware tell the story of the Isthmus, from pre-Columbian times to the arrival of the conquistadores in the early 16th century.
