It is highly recommended to start the visit with the museum, where numerous (more than 350) and sumptuous pre-Columbian pieces are exposed (ceramics, gold jewels, reconstitution of a tomb...) most of which were found during excavations on the site. The apprehension of the evolution of the ciudad, over nearly 1,500 years, is completed by several historical maps, a beautiful model of the city as it was at the time of its splendor, as well as explanations (in Spanish and English) on the conquest and piracy.
