The STRI, in charge of the island's conservation since 1946, organizes guided tours for a limited number of people. Book several weeks in advance, as requests are numerous. Meet at the Gamboa docks for a 45-minute crossing by lancha. The island is home to thousands of insects and over 120 species of mammals, more than half of which are bats. More animal species than the whole of Europe and no fewer than 1,200 different plants!

Visits for a day Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The lancha share of the port of Gamboa at 7am on weekdays, 8am the weekend, to arrive 30 minutes in advance. The excursion costs US$100 for the foreigners (foreign students US$70), US$50 for the nationals and foreign residents, and includes transport in boat (45 minutes), a walk in forest (3 hours), the entrance of the center of visitors and the lunch. Reserve several weeks in advance because the requests are numerous.
