Colón 2000 (pronounced Colón Dos Mil) is the port for cruise ships. It has everything to welcome those who come down from the high gangways of the huge cruise ships: ATMs, tourist office, supermarket, restaurants, car rental agencies and handicraft stores. The port comes alive especially during the peak cruise season (between October and May). At one time, a ferry link with Cartagena in Colombia was in operation but it is no longer functional.
