Hexagonal dovecote, a monument belonging to the vernacular heritage witnessing the life in the countryside of the Haute-Auvergne.
The dovecote, named colombian before the Revolution, is a building intended to shelter groups of pigeons to lay eggs, hatch and reproduce. The dovecote of La Prade is hexagonal, on chamfered pillars - cut - with masonry walls on wooden lintels. Its roof is the expression of an Auvergne terroir: fast slope and flat schist tiles. A monument belonging to the vernacular heritage and a witness to life in the countryside of the Haute-Auvergne. This small building is worth a visit during your stay in Vic-sur-Cère.
