Also known as Balneario Las Mendozas, the river is a popular spot for locals on weekends and during the water carnival, when floats are paraded on the water. This carnival attracts huge crowds, music and the famous culecos, the tanks topped by a platform from which the carnival queen or her acolytes, armed with a huge hose, spray the crowd to the rhythm of the travelling discos. A blessing under the scorching summer heat, acclaimed by the crowd. Agua! Agua! Agua!
