Located on the other side of the Pan-American Highway, Pocrí is a peaceful neighborhood that has preserved its old houses from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Most of the houses are awaiting restoration, but the whole area exudes a special charm. The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Virgen del Carmen) is celebrated from July 8 to 16. It features religious processions and the usual típico concerts. For a saloon atmosphere, go through the western door of the cantina facing the Parque Central (not recommended for women!).
