What an astonishing location, right in the heart of Port of Spain, within a renowned school, the St Joseph Convent, founded in 1836 and taught in French by 5 Catholic nuns who had arrived from France. Schooling became Anglicized in 1895. People come here to relax at any time of the day, drink tea, eat a delicious home-made cake or enjoy a real meal in an atmosphere of rare calm in this hectic capital. Not to be missed.
