Roomor, commissioned by French planter Lucien Ambard, is a colonial baroque building, full of turrets, balconies, cupolas, balustrades and wrought iron, and built from materials some of which were imported from Europe at great expense. Its marbles come from Italy and its tiles from France. Ambard's House, as it is also called, is one of the Magnificent Seven, the beautiful houses that border Queen's Savannah Park. Sold in 1940, it is still privately owned.
