This beautiful building, in the German Renaissance style, has a bluish limestone facade with ochre stucco and is one of the "Magnificent seven" that border Queen's Savannah Park. The cornerstone of this one was laid in 1902 by Courtney Knollys, the governor at the time, under the supervision of architect Daniel M Han. It was transformed into a college, and it was within its walls that little V. S. Naipaul, future novelist and Nobel Prize winner, took his first classes.
