The Brian Lara Promenade, which stretches the full width of the city center, completes the downtown area, adding a relaxed touch to the city's bustling streets. It's a popular spot for locals to play chess or dominoes, or just chat with friends. The promenade sometimes hosts free open-air concerts, film festivals, celebratory ceremonies and craft exhibitions. We only go there during the day, to avoid the lurkers who come out at sunset for less well-behaved activities.
