Hosein's Roti Shop is a Trinidad institution. The Hosein couple have been in the restaurant business for over 35 years, running a small barbecue restaurant in San Juan called Hosein's food shack. In 1984, as demand for roast beef grew, the couple decided to open an establishment specializing in this traditional Indian dish. Jameela, the matriarch, was in charge of making the pancakes, called skins, which surround the roast. The first restaurant was opened in Tunapuna, and the chain now boasts 6 in the country. A sure bet for connoisseurs.
