LA PASTORA CHAPEL
Church – Cathedral – Basilica – Chapel

Many chapels bear this name on the island because the Pastora is the virgin of the Capuchin monks who came on mission to Trinidad at the end of the 17th century and transmitted their devotion to this virgin to the Amerindians. Excavated in 1940, the sanctuary in the chapel is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. This church has no particular architectural appeal but its location in the middle of the forest is reason enough to go and have a look. Ideal on Sundays.
